The project involved the complete transformation of an aging waterfront cottage, blending classic Cape Cod architectural character with modern structural durability. Building along the coast presents unique challenges — including salt air exposure, wind-driven rain, and long-term moisture resistance. Every material and construction method was carefully selected to ensure long-term performance without compromising traditional aesthetics.
A key feature of the rebuild was the installation of authentic composite shingles designed to replicate the timeless look of natural cedar while offering superior resistance to weathering and coastal conditions. Structural upgrades were also incorporated to reinforce the home against harsh New England elements, ensuring it will stand strong for decades to come.
